
Recipe ideas for GOLDEN KAAN Shiraz
Ingredients to serve 4:
4 tuna steaks (each 200 g)
For the marinade:
100 ml sunflower oil salt and pepper 125 ml (1/2 cup) lemon juice 8 T (1/4 cup) chopped parsley
For the sauce:
250 g pitted dates (300 g with pits) 3 small cloves of garlic 30 g fresh ginger 1/2 tsp. dried red chilli powder 250 ml red wine vinegar
Preparation:
Mix all of the ingredients for the marinade. Pour the marinade over the tuna steaks. Let the steaks marinade for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
While the steaks are marinating, prepare the Blatjang (= sauce). Peel ginger and coarsely blend together with garlic and dates in a mixer. Stir vinegar and spices together with the dates, place in pot and quickly bring to a boil. Once it has reached a boil, remove from heat and let sauce cool.
Place the marinated tuna over medium-heated coals for 3 min. on each side. Serve with the date sauce.
