
Recipe ideas for GOLDEN KAAN Merlot
Ingredients to serve 6:
1 kg ground lamb or beef 1 milk, 1 slice of white bread 2 onions 2 cloves of garlic 2 T oil (ideally sunflower oil) 4 tsp. curry powder 50 g dried apricots 125 g raisins 125 g almond bits 4 T mango chutney (spicy) 2 T lemon juice 2 T chopped parsley salt, cayenne pepper 3 eggs, butter for the form 1 banana, 4 apricots 2 bay leaves
Preparation:
Soak bread in 100 ml milk. Peel onions and garlic cloves, dice and fry in hot oil. Remove bread from the milk, and save milk for later use. Brown the bread and ground beef with the onions. Season with mild curry powder and fry the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
Dice the dried apricots and add to the meat along with the raisins, almonds, chutney, lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Cook over low heat for 5 min. Season with salt and cayenne pepper.
Scramble the eggs and the remaining milk together. Spice with salt and pepper. Place the meat mass into a casserole dish that has been greased with butter. Pour the egg and milk liquid over the meat. Spread pieces of banana and apricot along with the bay leaves onto the casserole and then bake at 180° Celsius (= 350 F) for 20 minutes.
Serve with the traditional South African Geelrys (curry yellow-coloured rice with raisins) and a glass of GOLDEN KAAN Merlot |
