Runner up in the New World White Category Noffla Gold Star Awards, Ireland
March 2009
Golden Kaan Sauvignon Blanc 2007 was a top three finalist in the Gold Star Awards competition of the Irish Off-Licence Association (Noffla) and narrowly missed out on the top award and was runner up in the new world white category under €8.
The “Gold Star Awards” Collection is a selection of wines especially chosen by wine experts in the Irish Off-Licence Association and independent wine writers, Jane Boyce MW and Tomás Clancy, which are exclusively marketed by off-licences which are members of the Association. The Gold Star Awards brochure, which includes tasting notes, will also provide shoppers with the confidence to try new wines that are selected and recommended by an expert tasting panel.”
The jury considered Golden Kaan Sauvignon Blanc a lively and crisp wine with hints of tropical fruit flavours and great value for money.
The awarded Golden Kaan Sauvignon Blanc 2007 has previously received more recommendations, such as Wine Enthusiast Best Buy in the US and a Bronze medal from San Francisco’s International Wine Competition, the largest, most influential international wine competition in America.
Since its launch in 2003, Golden Kaan has become a leading South African wine brand with distribution in over 30 countries selling over 1.6 million cases to date. In Ireland, Golden Kaan is distributed by Ampersand, an independent, family-owned business with a highly competent and strong sales force. “
