Bronze Medal for Golden Kaan Private Collection
May 2009
Golden Kaan once again proved its high quality in a renowned international wine competition. A Bronze Medal has been assigned to the Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 at the International Wine Challenge 2009. The Golden Kaan Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon originates from vineyards around Stellenbosch. It is a dark, ripe and intense wine with a firm tannic backbone and plenty of black-berry, plum and spicy currant flavours, picking up cedary spice, oak and tobacco notes. It is a complex and concentrated wine for sophisticated demands. The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is acknowledged as one of the world’s most prestigious and influential wine competitions. The 26th IWC saw more than 9,500 entries which came from a record 41 countries. A large part of the IWC's reputation is down to the quality and experience of its judges. This year, more than 370 winemakers, merchants and writers from around the world took part. Up to 1,500 wines were assessed daily. The results of the competition were unveiled to the wine trade at the London Wine Trade Fair from May 12th-14th.
